So, if you want to build better habits that will take you to that 30 plants a week goal that's so important to your gut and overall health, you have to remember to stash your pantry with wholegrains, beans and pulses and be adventurous with spices, they are not just for curries!
You might say, I have no idea what you are talking about or where to start, which is why I say start small, with my free e-book that will guide you how to meal-prep and explain why it's important to eat healthy. Take it from a food scientist 😀!
Nerdy gut-health bit alert
Radishes are in season now, and I get ridiculously excited about them every year. They are crisp, peppery, bright, and very good at making everything on the plate feel a bit more alive. I love them sliced into salads or on my breakfast plate, but I love fermenting them and having something tangy and fresh to any meal. Radishes bring fiber and plant compounds of their own, and when you ferment them, you end up a little more variety to meals in a very easy way. That regular variety matters more than people think for your good gut microbes, especially if you are trying to eat a wider range of plants across the week.
Rhubarb season is here!
And because Easter is not far off, and rhubarb season is finally beginning to show up, I thought I would leave you with something on the sweeter side. My rhubarb banana muffins are soft, fruity, and just tart enough from the rhubarb to feel properly spring-like.
They are the sort of bake that works well over an Easter weekend because they are simple, not too heavy, and easy to have on hand with coffee or tea when people drift into the kitchen looking for something sweet.
Rhubarb Banana Muffins
Just a very good muffin with a bit of seasonal personality
