7 Plants in a Pan, 30 in a Week
We’ve just arrived at my parents and had a quick tour of their veg garden, watched suspiciously through the net by the world's most athletic chickens (mum and dad rear their own chickens mostly for eggs and they roam freely through a large section of the garden while picking at fruit that falls on the ground).

Cabbage standing proud, apple and pear trees heavy with fruit… it feels like autumn is already here.
In the Garden: Cabbage & Sauerkraut 🥬 Walking through my parents’ veg patch, the cabbages look like they could win awards. Firm, glossy, and standing tall. It reminded me just how versatile this humble veg is - perfect in soups, stir-fries, or, my favorite, fermented. If you’ve never tried making sauerkraut, it’s such an easy way to get live cultures into your diet. My pink version (with red cabbage) is a simple place to start, I even add it next to an egg scramble for breakfast.

Orchard Abundance 🍎🍐 The apple and pear trees are laden with fruit right now. There’s something about seeing the branches bent under the weight that feels like autumn has arrived early. Apples and pears are brilliant for gut health - full of fibre and polyphenols (those plant compounds your microbiome thrives on).

This Instagram post where I inspire you to cook with 5 seasonal plants to boost your fibre intake (because variety really is the key to 30 plants a week).
Watch this reel where I show you how to make a fastMediterranean stir-fry — and yes, it sneaks in 7 different plants in one pan!
Brown Sourdough on YouTube 🍞 And if you finally decided to take the plunge and bake your own 😉: my brown sourdough loaf tutorial is now on YouTube. Wholemeal, tender, and nutty, this is the bread I keep baking again and again. It’s my answer to shop-bought loaves and one of the easiest ways to upgrade your gut health with a few slices.
Quick Question: When autumn produce starts rolling in, do you lean into ferments, bakes, or cozy meals? Hit reply - I’d love to know what’s first on your list. Or just reply with anything you'd like to see me making!
