Aside from eating for your gut health and aspiring to 30 different plants, I talk about the importance of sleeping well in my free e-book. Except, I have not followed this advice myself!
Garlic is springing in my garden
So when we took a break to travel to Transylvania last week, my body finally gave up on me. All the work travel and late night working have caught up with me and I was then forced to bed rest for nearly 10 days with a nasty chest infection! Not to mention the fact that the doctor prescribed antibiotics and that makes me so sad, because as you know they affect our good gut bacteria. Well, lesson learnt: rest and sleep is as important as good nutrition and exercise!
We still enjoyed a few lovely days in the Transylvanian mountains, sampling some beautiful traditional dishes at Conacul Secuiesc, such a relaxed place where you can watch the beauty of the Trascau Peak.

Now, to rebuild that gut health, I am seriously craving this Chickpea and Halloumi Salad, and I am thinking of adding a good handful of those young garlic shoots that have sprung in my garden. Have you ever tried them? So much milder than spring onions (scallions)!
Now I'm nearly back to full health, my Candyfloslife kitchen and garden have work to do to make the most of spring 2025.
I have ordered my wooden planters, ready to start planting vegetables and herbs, not to mention that my purple potato seeds are here and I am so excited to plant some again in my grow bags. Watch the Youtube video for my simple pairing to go with them.
