🍐October Sundays need this

Sweet, salty, simple

Pears are beautifully in season right now - soft, fragrant and at their best with very little effort. I grabbed a heap from my local farm shop, they have beautiful orchards laden with pears right now. Not so juicy as last year, as it rained quite a bit for the past few weeks, but they are big and lovely for baking.

These baked pears with gorgonzola, honey and pecans are everything I love in a bite: soft fruit, salty cheese, toasted crunch and a little sweetness to finish. A few ingredients, big satisfaction.

They make a great snack before dinner, a light lunch with greens, or a weeknight ‘treat plate’ when you want something savory but not heavy. Swap the pecans for hazelnuts, pistachios or walnuts if you like. Blue cheese not your thing? Try goat’s cheese instead.

Good food doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it just needs a ripe pear and a warm oven.

Quick Question:
What’s your favorite sweet and salty pairing? Do you add fruit to your cheese boards?

💌 Or just reply with anything you'd like to see me making!

💌 I READ EVERY EMAIL!

See you next week !
