4 MORE SLEEPS!!!๐
Here we are, with only a handful of sleeps to go and my heart is swelling with joy of having my small family gathering over the next few days to pause and feast mindfully.
What do I mean by that?
We make most things from scratch, and throughout Christmas holidays we weave old family recipes with new ones, building more memories of yummy meals and enjoying each other's presence. We eat wholesome food and source quite a few ingredients locally (for example from our butcher at Layer Marney).
I know that our children love to sleep in, so surely I will wake up earlier and have a quiet coffee before starting on a Christmas brunch spread. This year, our breakfast/brunch will be adorned with:
๐ฏCrostinis slathered in whipped feta with cranberry and honey (livened up by a scatter of thyme and a pistachio crunch)
๐ฅฃA simple yogurt bowl topped with passion fruit, raspberries and toasted hazelnuts
๐ฅLuxurious sourdough toasts topped with avocado and smoked salmon with dill
๐ณAnd my personal favourite Turkish eggs: I gave them a bit of a twist with a little hot gochujang butter!
An elegant appetizer
I love to serve baked pears and gorgonzola cheese as a cozy appetizer during winter holidays. And sometimes, they even made a gorgeous Boxing Day lunch.

Sneak peak!
Christmas baking is in full swing at Candyflosslife kitchen!
Iggy, our daughter is making gingerbread cookies as I sit here and write. I cannot wait until they fill our small home with that warm aroma of ginger, cloves and cinnamon spice. She will painstakingly decorate them while we are all waiting drooling impatiently until we get to try them ๐!
Be sure to read my next newsletter, I will share those beautiful cookie photos (I really hope they last till I photograph them)
