It's a scorchio again in Colchester, so the grill is very much on. This week we've passed a wedding anniversary milestone, so it will be a double celebration, albeit a low key relaxed one. Think garden food, shaded under the olive trees canopy (they are a bit out of control at the moment with the hot weather we had).
Herby koftas with a cool tzatziki dip
In other news... Iggi is back home and I am very much back to remembering how to cook for three (although she's a good cook and will be sharing the cooking).
Dave's idea of a perfect day involvesgrilled koftas with a cold refreshing tzatziki, but anything grilled to be fair. But count the plants across the whole spread - tzatziki herbs, salsa fruit, sweet potato, halloumi, berries on the crepes - and dad's gut bugs are having quite the Father's Day too.
Lamb Koftas with Tzatzikiβ Juicy, spiced and herby, will work on a griddle pan if you don't have a BBQ. Pair with a proper cool tzatziki and flatbreads and that's your Father's Day dinner sorted.
Grilled Chicken Supremeβ Any chicken breast can be grilled like this - and this is how you make sure it never comes out dry. Worth knowing for the whole summer. βSee how ββ
Buttermilk Chicken Burgerβ For the Dad who wants something properly indulgent. Crispy, juicy, and the kind of burger that needs two hands. βMake it ββ
This one's more for me and Iggi if I'm honest - but it's seasonal, fresh, and exactly what you want alongside a grill spread in June.
Start the Day Right
Buttermilk Crepesβ Because Dave deserves a treat for breakfast. Light, fresh (I top them with lots of fresh berries), and ready before anyone's fully awake. βMake them ββ

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Hope yours is chock full of good food, sunshine, and someone else doing the washing up.
